As bad as soda

Food scientist alert: oatly isn't healthy at all.

Oatly. The favorite. The one everyone’s talking about. Considered by many to be the best oat milk out there.

But its popularity is also built on misleading buyers.

They put 0 sugar on the label, which they later had to change, because they thought they could get away with it because the sugar came from the manufacturing process rather than being added in.

They also market it as “cane sugar free”. Sure, it doesn’t contain cane sugar, but it has maltose, a worse sugar.

For reference, white sugar has a glycemic index of 65, lactose in cows milk is 46. Maltose is a whopping 105.

The same serving of Oatly spikes blood sugar as much as the same amount of Coke.

Regardless of how, if consuming this product increases your blood sugar that much, then sorry to say maybe it’s not actually healthy.

And they insists in deceiving consumers into thinking their sugary drink was sugar free.

That’s unethical and dishonest no matter how you slice it.

So about the oil.

Oatly contains rapeseed/canola oil, it’s very cheap, so good for their bottom line, and unhealthy.

Despite saying 0g trans fat on their label (much like their 0 sugar lie), canola oil does contain trans fat.

Regulations allow food manufacturers to put 0g or claim their product is trans fat free if there is less than 0.5g of it per serving size, which they get to determine.

The problem with rapessed/canola oil is that it needs to be very highly processed to eliminate the toxins.

There’s also the emulsifier they use: dipotassium phosphate.

A 2012 study concluded “the public should be informed that added phosphate is damaging to health” in recognition of it’s link to chronic kidney disease.

They’re also linked to calcium deposits in arteries and higher rates of heart attacks in healthy young men.

Quote from Washington Post: “phosphate additives will be the trans fats of the future; at one time prevalent throughout our food supply, and eventually banned due to overwhelming evidence of their negative impact on human health”.

It’s just so disgusting to market their product as healthy when it’s at the very least, as bad as soda.

Even their claim of being better for the environment isn’t true.

In 2018 alone, 82.2 million tons of packaging waste were produced.

What’s sustainable about that? Absolutely nothing.

They’re exploiting people’s good intentions to sell them something that does the exact thing it claims to be against. There’s no defending that.

The real question is…

Are you really gonna keep paying to be fooled?

Even though thousands of people are currently saving 150 dollars or more every month since they ditched Oatly and started making their own oat milk at home?

Think about it: the average price for a carton of Oatly is $7. Meanwhile, 2 pounds of oats costs about 50 cents – and depending on where you live, maybe a little over $1.

Do you know how much oat milk you get from 2 pounds of oats? About 17 liters.

That means every time you buy a carton of Oatly, you’re paying 14 times more for an inferior product – not to mention one that’s bad for your health.

Now imagine what you could do with an extra $150 in your budget each month?

Maybe you’ll turn these savings into a new piece of clothing, or some kitchen utensil you’ve been wanting for a while…

Maybe this will help you balance your finances.

I don’t know…

What I do know is this company is being unfair to you and your wallet.

And let me tell you something!

A person could go their whole life paying to be fooled just because they don’t realize how easy it is to make oat milk at home.

I bet you’ve made a smoothie before, right? Well, making oat milk at home is even easier than that.

Anyone with a blender can do it. Just follow this simple 3-step recipe.

Unlike Oatly, which is loaded with chemical additives, your homemade oat milk only needs three ingredients.

And don’t worry about maltose—that only gets released through a chemical process that Oatly uses. When you make it at home, that’s not even an issue.

Check out what Jessica has to say about how long it takes her to make her own oat milk at home:

“I was shocked at how fast it is to make. Way quicker than running to the store near my house to grab a carton of Oatly.

In less than 10 minutes, I’ve got fresh oat milk ready to mix into my coffee.”

See how fast that is?

And now, let’s hear from Ashley – if you’re someone who’s short on time, you’ll definitely relate. Take a look:

“I’m usually rushing out the door for work, so I barely have time for breakfast…

Even so, I decided to start making my own oat milk after finding out I can store it in the fridge for up to 10 days.”

Doesn’t matter if you’re making it to drink now or later…

You can keep it stored (or even freeze it) and drink it little by little.

But there’s one thing… storing it can be a bit tricky, so you gotta pay attention to that part.

Now, think about it, what would you do with an extra $150 every month?

By the end of the year, you’d have around $1,800 – without even investing, just saving it.

With that kind of money, you could take your family to visit the Appalachian Mountains and enjoy the natural beauty of one of the country’s most stunning landscapes.

You could also replace outdated furniture or even repaint your kitchen…

And so many other things you’ve probably planned but were just waiting for the cash to make happen.

It might seem like small change when you’re just thinking about the weekly savings… but when you add up a whole year, the difference is huge!

And your health will thank you, too.

Ever wonder why milk used to come in glass bottles, but now it’s all packed in cartons that keep you from seeing what’s inside?

Maybe if we knew what all those chemical additives did to our bodies, we’d think twice before putting that stuff on our table.

Another thing that stands out to me is the amount of trash we create by tossing all those cartons.

The planet would definitely appreciate it if we cut down on the waste we produce, don’t you think?

Now, you can you can store your homemade oat milk in reusable glass bottles…

In fact, when you see the recipe, you’ll realize there’s zero waste – everything is used!

With that being said…

It’s time to get even!
